چکیده

Invasive predators pose a critical threat to native taxa. Body size plays an important role in mediating the interactions of predator and prey. For piscivorous fishes, increased body can be accompanied by selection increasingly larger prey or may reflect mix small large Knowledge such helps determine how predation affects population vital rates. Here, we assessed predatory effects invasive Brown Trout (Salmo trutta) on populations Rio Grande Sucker (Catostomus plebeius) Chub (Gila pandora) streams Jemez River watershed (New Mexico, USA). diets were sampled every two weeks during 2020 growing season. Predator lengths measured examine relationships better understand patterns piscivory quantify Sucker. Across all sampling dates, 7% contained fish. Predator–prey length reflected ‘wedge’ pattern, indicating that consumed increasing range sizes as they grew larger. comprised 46% fishes. The findings demonstrated experience constant over season Trout. Moreover, our study provides evidence these viability populations. Rio Grande Gummosis

Young Valencia orange trees were grown for three years in large outdoor sand cultures on complete nutrient solu tions that varied differentially only in the amount of boron. Three rates of boron were applied to single-tree plots. The plots were replicated four times. No difference in tree size resulted from the differential treatments. Rather large differences in the boron content of the leaves...

Mycobacterial ecology of the Rio Grande.

This is the first study to characterize the environmental conditions which contribute to the presence and proliferation of environmental mycobacteria in a major freshwater river. Over 20 different species of environmental mycobacteria were isolated, including the pathogenic M. avium and M. kansasii. Species of the rapidly growing M. fortuitum complex were the most commonly isolated mycobacteria...
